Wedding Day with KennyK's Wedding Dance Digi and Spellbinders

Wedding Day with KennyK's Wedding Dance Digi and Spellbinders

Another Wedding congratulations card to day using another terrific digi stamp from kennykdownloads.com.
Spec for this card was just "Fun" and I think this stamp suits it perfectly.

I used the Spellbinders Botanical Swirls, which I have to admit is being sent to the BadBoy drawer.
First time I've had difficulty die cutting was with this die, it took 3 runs through the Grand Calibur and then it moved slightly when embossing.
In all, I had to cut it three times, taping it down really well to get the embossing in the right place.
It only cuts out the centre portion of the die and you have to use a craft knife to cut away the edges, so I'm not impressed with this die at all.
I admit if I'd known this before purchase I wouldn't have bought this die.
I then used a craft knife to cut it into two sections.

Sorry, the pearl card I've used, is beautiful in life but doesn't photograph well.
Large card measuring 19cm x 19cm

  1. Annoying that the die gave you so much trouble but it was worth it, this card is fabulous. That KennyK image is one of my favourites and it is so perfect with the pearlised card and colour scheme. Gorgeous. Thanks for joining us this week at Kenny K's Krafty Krew, Niki xx

PS You sound like a seasoned die-cutter and probably tried everything but when I have trouble with a die I layer a piece of thin card (or 2!) on top of the cutting plates to add extra pressure which sometimes helps x

  4. Thank you everyone, Yes, Niki not so much the actual die cutting at that happens sometimes with larger dies as the pressure isn't so great in the centre of the Grand Calibur, it's with the fact that it doesn't cut out any of the edges only the centre part, everything round the edge is left attached, this may be because it's called an "expanding die" but I've tried that too and each part needs to be cut seperately and then pieced together as it leaves a ridge round the edge. The newer corner dies in this range, seem to be a better choice as they completely cut out the pattern. It is however very pretty once all the bits have been removed.
Thanks for the invite crafty amy, no plans for October yet, so you never know :)
